Our Tubular Base Hinged Column, known as the Tyne, was designed for applications where access to the luminaire is restricted or limited. The Tyne hinges at the top of the base section allowing the luminaire to be serviced at ground level without the need for access equipment such as a cherry picker.
Operation
The raising and lowering method is a simple one-man operation using a demountable winch. The column cannot be hinged unless the correct lowering sequence is followed as a number of safety features ensures that lowering of the column can only take place with the correct equipment.
An important safety feature of the design of the Tyne is that the skirt of the hinging portion of the column does not restrict access to the door opening in it’s erected position and therefore it is possible to disconnect the electricity supply to the luminaire before lowering the column.
| The demountable winch used in the raising and lowering operation is light, easy to handle and very competitively priced. The same winch can be used for any Tyne column regardless of mounting height and weight of luminaire at the top of the column. |
