In order to cater for mounting heights above 6m we have 2 ranges of mid hinged columns, from 8m to 12m in a light duty range the BM2060, and from 10m to 20m in a heavy duty range the BMT 2076.

Principally these columns have been designed for applications where access to the column is limited or restricted; they are ideal in sports field applications and hazardous areas.

Operation
Using a simple “see saw” hinging principle which allows the column shaft and luminaire to be lowered to ground, this hinging method has the advantage of allowing the column to hinge in almost its own footprint. The one man raising and lowering operation is simple, quick and safe.

Applications
Head weights at the top of the column of up to 35kgs can be achieved without the need for any special lowering equipment other than the lowering rope. For greater capacities manual winches can take the capacity up to 188 kgs and electrical winches take the carrying capacity to almost 300 kgs! These columns are ideal for hazardous areas when operated with either a rope or manual winch.

Supply
These columns are normally supplied in the flangeplated version but with the addition of a bolt on root they can be converted to planted root applications. Full and comprehensive ranges of bracket arms and cross arms compliment the flexibility of application of these products.

Design
Columns are designed in accordance with BS 5649 and the new EN 40.
