Aluminium
lighting columns are manufactured using a very different process
to steel lighting columns; they are extruded from tube to
form cylindrical sections into which door openings and cable
entry slots are then cut. The columns are then heat treated
by annealing in an oven and then an anti corrosion root treatment
is applied.
Conical
aluminium lighting columns are available in mounting heights
from 3.5 to 15m and can be supplied in either planted root
or flangeplated versions. In keeping with the other lighting
columns we manufacture, aluminium columns are available with
a complete range of bracket arms. Aluminium columns are normally
supplied with a flush fitting door opening.
Various finishes are available, however we usually supply
a spun brushed finish with no additional treatment, columns
can be anodised or powder coated if required.
Design
All of our Aluminium Lighting Columns are manufactured and
designed in accordance with the British Standard BS 5649 and
where appropriate comply with the Highways Agency Specification
BD26/99.
These Lighting Columns will all fully comply with the new
European Standard EN40, which will shortly replace BS5649.
